About Us

At Aura Wellbeing our mission is to support people to reach—and sustain—their optimal wellbeing.

Wellbeing is the experience of health, happiness, and prosperity. It includes having good mental and physical health, a high level of life satisfaction, a sense of meaning or purpose and a sense of balance.

At Aura, our mission is to support people to reach—and sustain—their optimal wellbeing, whether it’s in a professional context working with employers to support their staff or supporting individuals on a coaching basis.

Founder, Aura Wellbeing

Heather started her career as a photographer and journalist before spending 10 years as a senior manager in the insurance industry in her native California. After the life-changing experience at age 30 of losing her mother to bowel cancer she moved to the UK, obtained a Master's degree and re-evaluated her professional goals. She made a pivotal decision to leave her successful corporate career and seek work more aligned with her sense of purpose.

Heather worked for the mental health charity, Mind, for four years. At Mind she led the development and operation of the Workplace Wellbeing Index, the UK’s only benchmark of best policy and practice in workplace mental health. She and her team supported over one hundred UK employers in making the mental health of their staff a business priority.

Nutritional wellness is central focus for Heather’s work with clients. As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, she advocates for bringing more awareness to a growing evidence-base proving that what we eat directly impacts resistance to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, cancers and our mental wellbeing

She also provides content and communications consultancy to the UK's largest workplace mental health event, This Can Happen.

Heather holds a BA in English Literature and Women’s Studies from San Diego State University, an MSc in Sustainability and Responsible Business Practice from Ashridge/Hult International Business School, an AA in Photography from City College of San Francisco and she’s certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She also holds extensive training in workplace mental health and in leadership.

In her spare time she teaches photography to teens as part of NGO projects in London and Spain, she’s an avid runner, traveller and experimental chef for recipes promoting healthy minds.
